Providing opportunities for children to actively use their senses as they explore during sensory play is crucial to brain development. Sensory play not only helps build synapses in the brain’s pathways, it also increases the child’s ability to complete more complex tasks, and supports cognitive growth, language development, fine and gross motor skill development, social skills, and problem-solving skills. It’s a win-win!

Sensory play helps shape the choices children make, impacts their behavior and also their responses.
