SPOTLIGHT: Community Planting Event with Northern Rivers and the NYS Troopers

A Brightside Up community event hosted by Northern Rivers/Parson’s Early Head Start in collaboration with the New York State Troopers took place on Friday April 28. Children and their families came together with teachers, Northern Rivers & Brightside Up staff, and NYS Troopers to encourage each other and build relationships through a fun and engaging planting event.

Troopers from Troop G, included TJ, Stephanie, and Curtis joined the children in getting their hands dirty planting all kinds of seeds with the children. The Trooper team gave positive feedback, scaffolded activities to ensure each child’s success and self-esteem, and engaged with the kids, eliciting ideas and feedback.
