Lettuce and Apple Salad
Join the Veggie Kids Club with this salad recipe that blends summer's best flavors. Children can help wash fruits and veggies, break apple slices into bite-size bits, roll and juice the lemon, and more. It's always better when we prepare food together. This recipe is CACFP creditable.

INGREDIENTS:
6 cups shredded lettuce
2 chopped apples
1/2 cup grated carrots
1 cup raisins
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon raspberry jam (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Place lettuce in a large bowl
2. Add apples, carrots, and raisins to lettuce & toss lightly.
3. In a small bowl, mix oil, lemon juice, & jam.
4. Pour dressing on lettuce & toss.

With this recipe, let children:
Rinse and clean the produce
Break apple slices into pieces
Separate raisins if stuck together
Add and mix the ingredients
Roll the lemon to release the juices
Add and mix the dressing ingredients
Pour dressing over salad and mix
INGREDIENTES:
6 tazas de lechuga picada
2 manzanas picadas
1/2 taza de zanahorias ralladas
1 taza de pasas
1 cucharada de aceite vegetal
1/4 taza de jugo de limón
1 cucharada de mermelada de frambuesa (opcional)
DIRECCIONES:
1. Coloque la lechuga en un tazón grande.
2. Agregue las manzanas, zanahorias y pasas a la lechuga y mezcle ligeramente.
3. En un tazón pequeño, mezcle el aceite, el jugo de limón y la mermelada.
4. Vierta el aderezo sobre la lechuga y revuelva.

Enjuaguen y limpien el producto
Partan las rodajas de manzana en trozos
Separen las pasas si están pegadas
Agreguen y mezclen los ingredientes
Rueden el limón para que suelte los jugos
Añadian y mezclen los ingredientes del aderezo
Viertan el aderezo sobre la ensalada y la mezclen
