Please join Brightside Up in celebrating and thanking our remarkable child care providers across the Capital Region.

Child care providers were more than essential long before the pandemic and now more than ever they have been pushed to new lengths and willingly put themselves on the front lines to provide for the children of other essential workers.

You dedicate your life to children, but Provider Appreciation Day is all about you. We would like to celebrate with you on Facebook. Send us a story about yourself, your children, or your child care program. It could be anything from the sensory table you designed, your favorite field trip, or the different ways you support families and each other, especially through COVID 19. We will share and celebrate with various prizes on our Facebook page on May 7th.To enter for your chance to win some prizes, you must email ccanniff@brightsideup.org or post and tag Brightside Up with your pictures, videos, stories on Facebook by April 30th.

ALSO ON MAY 7TH... We will be awarding two winners for the Dianne Meckler Scholarship! Due to COVID-19 we were unable to award a winner for last year's scholarship, so this year we are doubling up.

The Diane Meckler Scholarship was created and named after Brightside Up's (then we were the Child Care Council) first executive director to celebrate her leadership. The scholarship is awarded to a professional who has exhibited leadership in the field of early childhood or school-age care. To enter, complete the scholarship submission form which includes a short essay stating the reason you should be the recipient. If you applied in 2020, there is no need to apply again. Applications will be accepted until May 5, 2021
