Help with the Rising Cost of Child Care
The cost of raising a child has become one of the biggest expenses for many families. The cost of day care and preschool has risen far faster than the cost of other expenses like housing, food, and clothing. Even with a college degree, it can be hard for parents with a job to find the time and money to provide their children with the best care.
The good news is that there are options to help reduce the cost of child care tuition. One such option is the Workforce Development Institute (WDI) Child Care Subsidy, which helps lower-income families pay for child care. The subsidy has helped many families save money on their child care costs, and it is an option for parents who want to find the best child care at the best price.
WDI’s program is designed to aid, assist, facilitate, and simplify the subsidy application process for working families and it is able to serve working families with incomes higher than the Department of Social Services income eligibility level.
Qualified families may select any day care, after school, or informal provider, as long as the selected provider/child care program is licensed, registered, or is an approved legally exempt provider AND is willing to accept payment through DSS.
