Finding Child Care With WDI's Subsidy Funding
When it comes to child care, there are a lot of options out there. Some parents prefer to have their children cared for in a traditional child care center setting, while others prefer the family/group family child care option. No matter what you prefer, you can find great child care in the Capital Region. But when it comes to affording the right care for your children, the cost can sometimes be an obstacle.
Child care subsidies are available through the Workforce Development Institute (WDI). WDI’s program is designed to aid, assist, facilitate, and simplify the subsidy application process for working families and it is able to serve working families with incomes higher than the Department of Social Services income eligibility level.
Once you have completed the eligibility process, families may select any child care, after school, or informal provider, as long as the selected provider/child care program is licensed, registered, or is an approved legally exempt provider and is willing to accept payment through DSS.
To begin the eligibility process, complete the prescreen on the Workforce Development Institute’s website and click on the GREEN BUTTON. For eligibility info, download WDI’s PDF flyer.
